Greetings
The rim and spokes act a bit like a membrane of a speaker making the hub louder and generally altering the noise. The tyre dampens the noise. So if you're sure nothing has changed in the hub, that might be the answer. Although I'd be very surprised for there to be such a big difference between differnt builds. Kings will generally be quiteter if the ring drive spline on the hub is well lubricated and the rings themselves have lubricant on them. mr.tattoo
hi nothing changed except the nackered spokes and diff rim were removed and new rim and spokes fitted and built properly by tartys. it deffo much quieter as a few lads i rode with fri eve comented how quiet it was. hardly any noise at all im not fussy bout the noise of it just wanted to check its not a sign of anything bad to come lol. when i first got the hub it was well loud the more i rode the quieter it got. Revelation
When was the last time you cleaned the internal? It should be done at least every 4 months All the gunk, oil, water can cause it to go quiet.
