Mtchell
Hi As title says managed to snap a tensile crank and the freewheel is on there still i just want to know is it going to be possible to remove the freewheel with out the leverage of the crank arm ? any advice would be appreciated cheers
LukasMcNeal
Depends on the freewheel and how much is left of the crank. I'd put the crank in a vice and bolt the tool in and put a bar on the freewheel tool. Probs easier if it's a tensile as they use a BB tool. davidbarr
It should still be alright. You could put a long metal tube on it for leverage. http://www.tartybikes.co.uk/media/guides/maintenance_freewheel_and_sprocket_removal/m1.html
Krisboats
If it snapped like mine did it will be pretty hard to get a decent enough grip on it due to the huge curve on one side. I whacked mine in a vice and ground away the top half of the cranks (the only remaining bit of the arm. Then the bashring fell off and i unwound it by hand. The crank was destroyed anyway and i'm unsure if onza will even half price replace tensile stuff, i know they get really pissy about zona not being covered like onza so won't do it for them. Yer its snapped right near the top of the crank , only the curved bit left sounds like a night mare may well just buy a second hand one for time being

Once you've gotten the top bit off the bash will just lift off and you can unscrew your freewheel by hand. Think mine took about 5 minutes and i took a while making sure i got it all perfect with no marks on the bash.

onzatrip
get a hacksaw and cut were eg the bashring would meet the cranks so the threads have nothing to tighten agianst and the freewheel will be able to screw off using your hands
