alistair14
Im after a new set of tyres, and i was looking at the Echo tyres ..but ive heard some bad things once or twice if i remember right, they're not very grippy / hard compound? Would it be worth getting these for the front / back or should i opted out for something else? thank youuu Ali
Greetings
They're not too good. The only reason one would want to own one is because of the groove around the tyre which you can fill with white paint and make it look super cool. You would be better off getting the Maxxis ones which are a similar price.

Yeahh, ive had creeply crawlers in the past, they've been great ..was just wonderin if they where good for TGS kinda thing, the echos that is? or should i just give them a miss? CalopS
I'm not sure, TGS riders seem to run pretty much any tire from try-all to bald montys from years back. Think its all about the bounce with TGS. If I was riding TGS I would run a monty on the rear and a kenda up front, or a Maxxis on the rear if you dont want to spend the extra for a monty. sstein
Ali from what I have seen you ride 95% concrete. If I am right on that it does not really matter what tyre you run as long as it is mildly puncture resistant and has a large enough volume. Think about it this way, I have been running the same tyre on back for 2 years near enough now and it is totally bald but my grip has not decreased at all for what i ride (though riding in the snow was interesting). Saying this, if you are after new tyres I am a big fan of anything maxxis
SamKidney
Ive run nothing but Maxxis for 2 years now. Brilliant tyres. However Ive used the Echos and there pretty good too. Im gonna be running a rear Echo with Kenda up front in summer. Pure TGS However the Try-All Stickys are good too. Bouncy, grip well and Logos look sick
SamKidney
Ive run nothing but Maxxis for 2 years now. Brilliant tyres, but want a change. Ive decided that im going to find the perfect tyre. So will be trying try-all, monty and echo. Ive used the Echos and they felt good, but didnt use them long enough to get a good review, but others may disagree. For Tgs they should be fine, cls swears by his. Im gonna try running a rear Echo with Kenda up front in summer. Pure TGS the Try-All Stickys are next after the echo. Meant to be Bouncy, grip well and Logos look sick edit; sorry for double post. CalopS
If you are only doing TGS Try-all's probably arn't worth the extra money. They have good mud shedding properties and grip well to gravel and crap as well as the usual stuff. You dont need that for dry walls. Revolver
You can allways slick them down like i did tonight Do you mean, you cut all the knobbles off? Or it wore down itself? Cutting the knobbles off an expensive tyre doesn't seem worth it to me.
