LukasMcNeal
Interested in buying a der kaiser or rain king from the classifieds section. But I don't know which to go for?
N.Wood
Either, doesn't matter honestly. Whichever is cheaper/better value.
Luke Rainbird
You won't really go far wrong with either, so go for whichever is most affordable/you like the tread pattern of best/you think would leave the best mark if you slapped it round the face of a sibing Edit; Snaked. Wood's got the replyin' skillz yo'
Revelation
Rain King is narrower and lower so better clearance
LukasMcNeal
Rain king half tread £20 Der Kaiser 90% £35 I'm tempted towered the kaiser just for the longer life? Do they use the same compound? What about pinch resistance?
N.Wood
Yea I'd go DK, will last for a while. They use the same compound, same carcass and pinch resistance is as good as it gets.
Rusevelt
Didn't either Krisbouts or Tomturd say that their local Halfords store were selling DK's for £24. Can't remember the topic/thread of this conversation, but it was sometime last year.

Greetings
Continental's range of tyres is a bit of a mess, first you have the normal King/Queen tyres which are cheaper and heavier, then you have the handmade models which are lighter, more expensive and have these unusual sounding rubber compounds like superduper or black paprika.
