Zoo Lynx 09 Cracked

Recommended Posts

Basically was out riding today with me mates when me mate noticed a crack on the top tube weld near where it divides to the two top stays. Anyone ever com across this before? the frame is only 6 months old. The 09 deng models must be prone for snapping/cracking at the weld as the last topic i posted was me mate who snapped a gu le at the weld on the chain stay.

Oppinions?

It's funny how people think that just because it's a ZOO! it will hold up for anything.

As I've understand it, the old ZOOs where very strong, although thoose weight about 2 kg, and the Lynx weight 1,54. Surely that makes a difference.

Although I feel sorry, never fun when a bike brakes. :)

The bike in question is far from battered and is kept in a high state of repair.

It is also a very strange place for is to crack. Surely a frame defect?

Especialy considering our friend Kornel Brygola has been riding one hard for around a year with Zero problems.

Andeee will confirm this for me.

Not sure what action could be done on this but needs sorting.

The Zoo Lynx is a very good frame, and should no have cracked in this space in time, in such an unlikely place.

That has very little to do with the bike being "battered."

My bikes are always in perfect working order but trust me some of them take some hard, hard knocks.

If there is very little sign of damage it may well be a warranty claim, but don't get your hopes up with it being an 09.

its not so much the condition of the bike, its how its happened. Im saying another zoo lynx is being ridden better and harder by a friend of ours. The one in question is half as old, only 6 months, and ridden no where near as hard. As mark mentioned, very strange place to crack.
