Joe Papasnap Maher
So..was cleaning my bike earlier.. Rode through some dog muck, and it wasnt the most desirable smell..So i thought id give it a once over.. I do clean my bike, every few weeks, just because i get that feeling of it feeling new again.. Anyone else??
Dwarf Shortage
I voted once a month, but the new-ness factor definitely plays in as well, I was happy to ride around on my old BMX with it looking like a rat bike or something, but my new one gets washed after pretty much every ride. And I wash my trials bike either once a month, or if it's particularly dirty.
CalopS
I haven't cleaned mine all winter really. I kept putting it off because Ive been riding regulary and its either been snowy or muddy so I didnt see the point. Planning to clean it tomorrow though seen as the weathers been a bit better
bikeperson45
Roughly every month for me, even if it doesn't work well it might as well be reasonably clean.
isitafox
Doesn't really get too dirty but occasionally I'll tale it to work and give it a polish over with a cloth an wipe all the dust off the wheels and stuff
j-bonham@hotmail.com
I voted after every ride. simply cos i have been lately. with it being winter an raining most of the time, the bike seems to get filthy when i get back i usually grab the pressure washer, an give it a 30 second blast....... does the trick. dannytrialskid
If it's dirty yeah. Sometimes I might give it nice scrub to make it look tip top. Depends in what mood I'm in I guess.
Miles Mallinson
I voted once a month but I ride a bit of dj on mine so it gets pretty filthy I only really wash it with muc off if its been raining and I've been riding on the beach then the sand clogs up the sprockets abit. Mark W
Not often. My Inspired usually accumulates a load of mud/general filth on the top of the BB yoke, but that's about it. My spray job's about a micron thick so anything that hits my frame usually removes paint instead of sticking to it My Sky's looking pretty minging at the moment though, but it covers up the stars a bit. Every cloud has a silver lining...
Ross McArthur
Its amazing how riding through snowy conditions makes your bike look. The snow cleans your tyres and makes them look brand new but you do quite often get grit flicking up into the BB area. I focus on my braking surface when I clean my bike. The rest of it can be dirty if it wants.
J.KYDD
Trials bike cleaning is super rare for me. The my cross country bike gets washed after after every ride though

monty-james
I clean my depending on where i ride and how often i ride. In the winter i should probably clean it more, but the cold hurts my hands which i think is a reasonably excuse. I dont need to clean it as much in the summer but i do clean it more often. So i voted once a month.
Revolver
I put rarely, but to be honest it's more like never. I might wash it if it's really dirty and I want to put it in the car.
Phatmike
Only when Giles makes me! This topic's made me realise how dirty mine is though, time for a spring clean methinks.

JDâ„¢
I whack the ol' meths on the braking surface before every ride - I think that if you run smooth rims and don't clean them every ride then you're missing a trick. Other than that, and before now, my bike hardly every got cleaned. But recently I've been stripping and rebuilding it once a month because of how old a lot of the parts are, and with the new paint job I'll probably try to keep it clean too. Ross McArthur
Yes, with a smooth rim you have to watch out for dirt and dust. You also have to look out for pad residue. A lot of pads leave a greasy surface on rims, so as JD said, a wee bit of a clean doesnt go a miss to keep your rims in a fine condition. Sam T
Only when it gets really dirty! Doesnt really get too bad though.
Joshtp
My mtb gets a good clean whenever it needs it... at least every few weeks. Trials bike hardly ever, I dont really ride much muddy Nat stuff, or when it's very wet, so it stays pretty good.
Andy P
My theory is, dont ride, dont get dirty, dont need to clean. Easiest way I think!
davey1991
I clean my Trials bikes and my XC bike when its been used, but the BMX and fixie both get left to get filthy. I actually like having that dirty, used look on my cheap bikes.
Dave Anscombe
i give mine a clean when im in the mood espesh after a smoke because i pay more attention to things same goes for maintainance usually il give it a clean if it needs it so i put once a month
Krisboats
The trials bike very rarely ever gets dirty, more a fine layer of dust which gets a rag across the bars and the toptube once everytime i notice and thats about it really. The big bike gets a proper clean like at least once a month though.
Captain Scarlet
I've had my Limey 320 frame for about a year now and I haven't cleaned that once. To be fair I don't ride as much as I used to, and even if I do it is rarely in bad weather.
