I have just single speeded my bike because my derailure was jamming because something was skipping what but its still happening could it be anything to do with having a bit of tooth missing off my front chainring or could I have anything to do with having a crap chain, could it be bent or something this would really help if you could help me

Chainline? are your sprockets running in as much of a straight line as possible, when changing sprockets, chains etc, they tend to like to be changed as a group as they wear in together. Personally I would buy a new chain and front cog and then align it all properly use some decent oil so it all runs smoothly and you wont have problems again, make sure you maintain it though...........

I've had a similar problem on some other bikes of mine... Chain ring was a little off, so I just figured that was what was giving me all the trouble. Finally figured out that it was my chain; a link had been bent just a tad.

IMO, I'd thoroughly check the chain and ride around slowly while checking out the chain/gears to see if you can spot the problem before you throw money at it.

Have you hit your chain ring off anything? it could explain why a tooth is missing and a few other teeth could be bent, on one of my old bikes I managed to bend 3 teeth on my chain ring and it kept jamming just like yours.

yeah i think a few of my teeth may be bent, but my chain may be bent too :/
