Davetrials Posted January 2, 2011 Report Share Posted January 2, 2011 Since i reformatted my laptop i no longer have the option to put my laptop on stand by when i shut it, so everytime i close my laptop it shuts down, its all getting a bit tedious, and ive got no idea what to do? any help Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Jon Alty Posted January 2, 2011 Report Share Posted January 2, 2011 I had this, try going into powersave options and there may be something stopping it there, try a different powersave option, or if not it may be the USB ports not allowing it to sleep (as it was with mine). Cant remember how i fixed it, but you need to go into some sort of options, maybe power management? then on every USB port, right click and manually select "allow computer to sleep". Posted January 2, 2011 Report Share Posted January 2, 2011 Check the CDs that came with the laptop, one of those will be the apps for the brand of laptop, for example 'Dell Control panel' or 'Toshiba service station'.
