Hi, i have just recently bought some echo sl cylinder washers to go on my standard magura brake clamps, but i put them on with the original plastic washers and tighten them up the little taps on the mount does not touch the other mount as i dont want to tighten the bolts any more as they are very tight now, are the tabs sapppost to hit the other mount or is it ok if i leave it so the tabs are not touching the other mount

thanks

matt.

May be wrong, but arnt they meant to replace the plastic washers?

I dont think so, i think thats just if u got SL clamps too, i think with normal maggy clamps u need the washer. I dont really understand what u mean, but i think u mean each half of the mount arent touching each other, as though the cylinder is too big for the clamps? I guess if this is the case, then aslong as they are tight + u have it all square (same space between halfs on both side) then i guess it should be ok? Dont over tighten it though as u might strip the thread in your frame, which is bad times :P.

I mean the little tab on the side of each mount so when you tighten up the bolts the litle tab on the side hits the bottom mount and i just wanted to know if the tab hast to hit the other mount as mine doesnt, if you get what i mean :giggle:

As long as your clamps are tight, then i guess it's fine.

i know what you meen, its ment to sit flat, it sounds like you might have the clamps upside down so there not sitting into the frame properly, try taking the clamps off and turning them the other way, see if it works. look at some pictures on google images or of bikes on here and see what they look like and just compare yours with it, like spot the difference :) hope i helped

chris.
