Sam T
Common problem with sealed bearings after having them. Its due to the grease inside the bearings itself wearing away leaving you with a bearing feeling horrible and rough. If you go to your local bike shop ( preferably not halfords, clueless ) they usually have some new ones. If you want to keep the ones you have, all I did was put prolink ( I'm sure any other lubricant will be fine, tf2, wd40 ect ) and soak it! Hope this helps. Azarathal
To the poster above, WD40 is a de-greaser not a lube.
Shop_Guy
To the poster above, WD40 is a de-greaser not a lube. actually it's not a de-greaser common misconception, It is a lubricant but not a heavy one. It is more of a rust inhibitor that anything. the question you should ask yourself is after i spray that on a bike part and let it dry when it touch it is it slippery? Technically it is a highly penetrating lubricant that is (reasonably) easily removed with water. While it is a lubricant it does in fact have the same affect as a degreaser if used a permanent lubricant in the sense that a degreaser removes the old grease and then allows it to be easily washed away.
