Are you tightening the stem before the headset?

mmmm i just put it together and then tightened the stem, how do i tighten the headset? its my first time building a frame from scratch :$

First off, what frame/fork/headset combo you got?

onza blade frame, forks from a onza t bird (think they are the same as the standard onza blade ones), and a fsa orbit equipe.

I'd say it is most likely one of the following things

Compression ring or crown race missing (or you have them mixed up)

Wrong crown race for the headset (have you changed forks and/or headsets?)

A knackered starnut that is spinning or pulling up through the forks

completely new headset with starnut etc and changed the crown race over , i have out all the pieces that i had out the box.

cheers for the help guys

pretty sure i did, will go to the shed now and make sure i did before lining it up and tightening.

if it is that then im going to look like a big numpty lol
