Adam '93
I know I should just contact them but the phone-lines are closed so I thought I'd ask here. I'm planning on ordering a new rear rim and spokes/nipples to be built onto my own hub, when i make the order how do I let them know that I'll be sending my own hub? And how quickly do I need to send it? Edited December 19, 2010 by Adam '
isitafox
It'd probably be easier to ring and speak to them although there is an option for a wheelbuild with your own parts under the workshop section. To be honest it's not going to get built till well into January now and with the weather your hubs gonna take the best part of a week to arrive with them anyways. I'm hanging on till after the new year as I'm doing the same as you.
Sponge
Just under a month ago I sent my hub to be built, came the day after the build date with a pretty impressive quality. I just emailed them beforehand asking if it's okay to send my own hub, and then once it's confirmed then the rest is simple. Just make sure to re-confirm it all in the comments box of your order! On a side-question, how slow is Christmas post this year for you guys? Averagely, say a first-class recorded package ordered online that should come the next day? Mark W
When you order a wheelbuild, it states the date for the build on it. As long as the parts from you get to us before that date it's all good. If you select the "Parts not bought from us" wheelbuild option and just say in your Notes that you're sending in the hub/rim/whatever, that's no problem. Regarding Christmas postage - one of my parents sent me a letter on about a week ago and it's still not got here. If you really need something to get to someone quickly at this time of year, it'd probably be worth going Special Delivery. Recorded mail doesn't guarantee anything - it still goes with 1st Class mail anyway, but you get confirmation of delivery. That doesn't mean anything about when it'll actually be delivered though, or stop them being able to lose it without a trace...
