Sam T Posted December 16, 2010 Report Share Posted December 16, 2010 Usually people prefer to flex in your chainstays/back brake. It due to the brake being so powerful its pushing the frame outwards. Using a booster will elliminate this. There is also spoke flex. When you run a disk, due to it being one one side it will pull the rim to the disk side (correct?) I think.. dann2707 Posted December 16, 2010 Report Share Posted December 16, 2010 It's due to your brakes (Vee and Hydraulic rim) being so powerful that they actually bend the frame away from the rim. Usually counteracted by using a brake booster which makes the brake set up a lot more stiffer and reduces flex. Some frames also have brake boosters in built in to the frame near the brake mounts.
