zoster
anyone heard of these? they have 9/9 sweeps, and seem to have decent rise as well (close to trialech i would guess from the picture). i heard they're done by ozonys. does anyone own these? http://www.trialparts.net/cat.php?id=7 thanks! LukasMcNeal
I haven't had these, but i'd recommend the trialtech's. They are tried and tested
Greetings
It's probably the same handlebar just with tweaked geometry. Really, it's not like each manufacturer makes their own bars, most of them come from the same factory in Taiwan. So the choice is not a matter of what brand it is but the geometry and material it's made of.
Mark W
They might 'all be made in the same factories', but some manufacturers go to substantial lengths to research and develop their bars, and spend a long time testing them to make sure they don't break. Bonz have obviously seen that Trialtech's bars and overall aesthetic/style is popular, and are copying them as a result of that. Simply because Trialtech are the ones who put the effort in to create the bars in the first place, I'd personally support them over Bonz. zoster
if anybody is wondering, i got my hands on a pair of those bonz handlebars today. the rise is around 80mm (tarty-style measurement), upsweep was less then that of my azonic double walls, although on paper they both have 9 deg up, but they felt comfortable enough. i'm gonna go with trialtechs because of the increased rise (that i hope is actual)
Mark W
Geometry Width: 730mm (28.75in) Total rise: 103mm Upsweep: 10° Backsweep: 10° Measured it myself...

And buy their own tooling so nobody else can use it.
zoster
got the trialtech bar and it has pretty much the same geometry as the azonic 2.5' double wall here it is on the bike Edited January 25, 2011 by zoster
rhythm_101
I was looking for the geo of the azonic bar and couldn't find it anywhere! i was looking for a bar with more rise that the DW any suggestions??
AdamR28
Trialtech High Rise.
rhythm_101
which is basicaly the Bonz bar right?
AdamR28
Erm, hard to say for sure without the proper geo of the Ozonys bars, but the Trialtech High Rise (which are different to the Sport bars) are the highest we know of. Mark W
which is basicaly the Bonz bar right? Different geometry, different construction, etc...
rhythm_101
ahh ok, i did see that the geo varied slightly in the Bonz bars, but i thought the height was roughly the same! sorted my questioon out then
zoster
unfortunately the trialtech high riser isn't higher than the azonic 2.5' rise bar (i actually think it's 2 mm or so lower, but not sure). the bonz bar has pretty much the same height (maybe 3mm difference in favor of the trialtechs), but it has different geometry (less pronounced sweeps)
