Lazy Piston

Hold the opposite piston in, pull brake so the other pops out. Clean off the piston, stick a small drop of chain lube on piston, spread it around then give the brake a pump to lube up the seal. Usually works.

Even better, lube the inside of the slave ;)

Pop the hose out, fill it with oil, pump it in and out a few times, empty it out and rebleed with fluid of your choice :)

I havn't fixed a magura in about 5 years so that was what I remembered :P

Your method does work to an extent, just a better solution to lube inside, that way the oil actually gets to the parts that need the lube, being the cylinder bore and piston, the seals will stop any external oil actually getting where it need to be :)
