Matt Vandart
Anyone know what the pitch of the thread is on these bolts? Thanks.
monkeyseemonkeydo
Measure it? I'm guessing 1.5mm (). Can't be bothered going into the garage to measure it though .

I a sure it easy enough to just google it if you dont know 'Standard' doesn't really mean anything though when the options are Fine and Coarse. Matt Vandart
I am not with my bike atm so I cant measure it dude. As said above it could be 1mm, 1.25mm or 1.5mm. I think it is pretty coarse.
monkeyseemonkeydo
Well what do you know- it's 1.5mm. Just measured it with a guessometer in t'garage. Edit: And don't say I'm not good to you!!
sstein
Coarse is standard. If you go into a bike shop you dont tell them that you want an m6 with coarse threads to fit your disc brake mount you just say you need an m6 bolt. monkeyseemonkeydo
Coarse is standard. If you go into a bike shop you dont tell them that you want an m6 with coarse threads to fit your disc brake mount you just say you need an m6 bolt. That's because most bike shops wouldn't know an M6 screw if it hit them in the face!

rupintart
There's a place here in the States called "Ace hardware" and they have literally every size of bolt imaginable. I replaced my bolts with the hardened steel black bolts. Stainless is too soft to really torque on an the heads strip out. These black ones will strip out the allen key before stripping. But just goto a hardware store, bring the bolt with you and find one that is the same. Or, you can call up Hope and just ask them.
Matt Vandart
Thanks for the info dude. Hardware stores in the USA are awesome like they used to be here, the ones here are now shite.
