Personally, I'd either stump up the extra £300 for the Koxx levelboss on tarty, or buy a second hand bike. You'll just end up replacing 90% of the above bike relatively quickly otherwise.

In answer to the shifter question, you woul dhave to lock out the rear mech, then remove the cables and shifter.

It's funny that u mentioned the mad as I just rang about getting hold of one, are they worth it and what would need upgrading on one also the 1.2 or 1.1 ?

Not as much as the Cleaner, both of them have Maguras so you'll be sorted brake wise. You may want to convert to single speed, but I ran gears for a while and was fine with them. Phases over the Cleaner

still a bit stuck thinking of getting the phase 1.2 but unsure on the gears thing will a bike shop fit me a single speed?

also pads for the hs33s what shall i go for, and bleeding them do they come ready to go or not ?

You should be able to fit a single speed kit yourself, all it consists of is undoing the lockring holding the cassette on and sliding it off then sliding on some spacers and a single cog.

As for pads your probably best looking in the pad review thread and making your own mind up as this subject is prone to starting some long and pointless arguments! (start at the end and work your way back through the thread though!) and you won't have to worry about bleeding them, they'll be ready to ride!

Well thanks all that's that I will order the phase tomorrow hopefully here before crimbo so I can practice after me turkey dinner, do u reckon the brakes could freeze ?

Thanks all and to all a good night

Nah the brakes won't freeze up as they'll be bled with oil being brand new.
