Jon Alty
Obviously the Chris King rear hubs have a better reputation than the hope ones (have read the hopes used to break alot?), however i was just wondering how much better they are? Obviously they are like 3 times the price, but are they worth the extra money? Cheers for your opinions.
Luke Rainbird
The older King hubs seemed a lot more consistent than the newer ones, which it would appear are a little hit or miss. You either get a 'good one' or a 'bad one'. Hope are consistently decent and will back up their products by sorting you out if you do have a problem, but if you get a 'good' King you shouldn't ever need to worry
Jon Alty
I guess just lucky if u get a good king or not? surely for 1/3 of the price the hopes are better then?
Shaun H
If you get a King, put a couple of hundred miles on it using a "normal" bike first to ensure the drive teeth are well bedded in to eachother. Then service it, preferably using a lighter oil such as Finishline Wet Lube before starting to use it for trials.

Greetings
I've said this in many topics like this, if it's a new King you're getting, don't bother. Try buying a 2nd hand hub which has had a clean running record, preferably from someone you can trust. Hand on heart I don't know a single person who bought a new king within the last 3 years and hasn't had major problems with it.
