dannytrialskid
Hi, Ever since my brake froze it hasn't been working. I bled it just now with dilute anti-freeze aligned my pads pull in lever it worked ok. Test rode it for about 30 seconds and then lever goes straight into the handlebar again. For what I can see there is no leaks either! There are no air bubbles coming out when I bleed it either. What could be wrong?

What could be wrong? sounds like a lose of fluid, checked all the pistons? you could try bleeding it again with water and pump the lever and see if there is any fluid under it when it is of the bike at a standstill. mine froze the otherday, and seems like the piston is stuck all the way in now. no matter how much i do the tpa up the lever still doesnt press the piston. ....hmmmmm i had this problem, i took the lever apart, piston out then sanded the plastic on the piston a little. covered the piston in lube then put it together. worked for a couple of months then it had a leek. krazykid009
I had this. Just rebleed it and check the bleed bolts have been done up TIGHT. Was what was wrong, but may be different for you. Try taking apart the lever as above, and also check the fittings. Good luck getting it sorted. Hope I helped a little. Matt Burrows
I bled it just now with dilute anti-freeze aligned my pads pull in lever it worked ok. Test rode it for about 30 seconds and then lever goes straight into the handlebar again. For what I can see there is no leaks either! Its losing fluid somewhere, and quite a lot by the sound of it! Rebleed it, then dry the brake all over with some tissue/rag. Make sure its completely dry especially around pistons/seals/hose fixings etc. Then refit the pads and test it, should be easier to spot where its losing fluid from then. PaRtZ
If your broke froze, remember water expands when it freezes (The only compund to do this?) So it wouldn't be unlikely to have induced stresses in a weakness in the brake system (ie pushed the fittings apart and cracked them or squashed the master piston etc) As Mr Burrows says, dry it off and it possible, get a friend to watch the slave end while you watch the lever!
