curtis@soton
Hi, im looking at maybe custom building my own 24" trials bike, and was just thinking of using a dirt jump frame because they are cheaper but im worried about the geo and if it will increase weight and mobility? any help would be appreciated
Miles Mallinson
its do-able but you will be held back alot by the geometry and weight, just have a look at ryan leech's videos he rides quite a normal frame with suspension forks and he seems to get on pretty well but put a ridged fork on obviously its will be tens times as hard starting off with heavy forks
Ali C
a dirst jump frame will have a lower bb and longer chainstays, this will make it a complete pig for rear wheel moves and anything involving spins.

Miles Mallinson
If your struggling with the money side of it just get a second handstock (26 inch) frame, if you can find a base ta26 they are alright with 24inch wheels or you might find an old style ashton or you might decide riding 26inch they are proberly more trialsy than 24inch but you can still do spins and othe bmxy moves you just have to set it up right. Also Jeff Lenosky rides a giant stp pretty well in sort of dirt/street trials demos.
