curtis@soton
Hi all, I'm a keen mtb rider and ride whenever i can but want to start something more interesting and exciting, which is why I'm looking at trials I'm just wondering what would be a good bike for a beginner obviously second hand and not too expensive but good value for money. I've been looking on the web and i cant find any bikes with gyro's on them (like bmx's) i was thinking would it be better for me to put one on or just leave it? Cheers
Jamie_Trials
It's always a good idea to start off on an onza, they're really good value for what you get. As you're talking about gyro's am I right in thinking you're wanting to have a lot of variation in your riding? If this is the case you're best off with a 24" as most of them are designed for that type of thing. Hope I helped, and I've submitted a validation vote for you Jamie Edited December 9, 2010 by Jamie_Trials
Rusevelt
Leave it. Gyro is not needed or required for trials riding.
curtis@soton
Thanks guys much needed help and votes, am i right in guessing eBay is the best place to go other than the for sale page on here. and yes i do like a bit of variety in my riding Edited December 9, 2010 by curtis@soton
Sam T
and yes i do like a bit of variety in my riding Welcome to the forum. First of all, i would scrap gyro's. Just put on longer cables if your worried about them being to short for a certain whip.trick. If you want to go down these kind of lines then a Onza Zoot would be good. Bit pricey but im sure they are worth it.
bikeperson45
If you want to get a full rotation for tailwhip sort of moves, get one of these http://www.tartybikes.co.uk/headset_spares/gusset_hollow_star_nut_kit/c57p11013.html put your front brake through that, longer rear brake cable, done. Lynas13
As said above. Leave the gyro and especially hydralic ones as a friend had one and was always rebleeding it. Just stick to longer cables or brakeless if you want. Also the best website in my opinion is tartybikes. Brilliant service.
