New Rear Brake

To be honest i didnt post this topic to tell you how i broke my lever, i just wanted a little advice on a new brake.

But i came off a 1 foot high wall and it just cracked and snapped off, and not long ago the clamp snapped randomly.

Now, new brake?

Stop getting so shirty...

Woody was only asking, because if you broke it from doing something retarded a new brake wouldn't cure this.

To that end I'd say source an 04 magura, but that's just my 2 cents

I dont break my levers intentionally, just to clarify.

But i dont think i'd be able to find an 04 lever would i? or is there somewhere that still sells them.

Any other suggestions aswell?

Cheers

Don't do the clamp up so tight. It won't "randomly" just snap, and when you land on/hit the lever it'll move and not break. Problem solved

Yes problem solved when it hasnt already broken.....but it has.

Please, i only asked for some suggestions on buying a new brake, can we not just stick to that?

ive been running the 2011maguras about a month now, didnt like them to start with but after riding them for a few hours i preffered them over 2010.

i found they have some slight give when you pull them making modulating the brake easier as my 2010 were so solid when pulled it was either on or off. Also after doing a comp on them couple weeks ago it wasnt till afterwards i realised i got no arm pump at all which was nice as old ones gave me loads even with water bleed.

i would really recommend the 2011mags lovely feeling a look that grows on you, lever blade feels nicer on a 4finger.but i never had echo brakes so cant compare the two against each other as i always found magura absolutely fine and never had any problems at all.

best take some advice so you dont balls up your new brake....

if youre not bothered about breaking further brakes...by all means, ignore it - somewhat contradicts the point of the topic though

nothing wrong with a magura, probably why alot of the worlds top riders, and the majority of the trials community use them with no issue whatsoever....confuses me how so many basic riders seem to know more than the 'experts'
