AJ9604
What is the best gear ratio for my inspired fourplay, i am running a hope pro2 trials 15t with 170mm middleburns with a 20t? i used to ride a monty years ago and liked the ratio on that so was looking for something like that? cheers AJ
Nick Manning
Hi AJ, you say you liked the ratio on your Monty. 20th fron/15th rear, to work out the ratio you do 20/15=1.333333333 1.3333333333 was the ratio on your Monty, what you need to consider is that your Inspired has bigger wheels, so that ratio will feel different to how it did on your Monty. AJ9604
thats the ratio on my inspired now, it just feels a little harder than i used to have on the monty, it could just be in my head but was hoping someone could suggest how many teeth front and rear

AJ9604
am i correct in thinking then using that calculator i would need a 16t rear sprocket to get the same dive as a monty with standard 18t-13t gearing

monty221ti
monty runs 18 front and 12 rear, the gear ratio on a monty i about 2.3?? =)
AJ9604
well I just ordered a 16t sprocket for the back. So will be running 20t at the front and 16t at the rear with 170 cranks, hopefully this will be more like my old monty
Matt Vandart
Plug it into here: CLICK That is cool as and just what I needed atm. Why are you trying to match the gearing for a 20"/26" pure trials bike for an inspired 24"?
AJ9604
Well I have ridden mod's for years and years and just feel really comfortable with that gearing so that's what I was aiming for
