Joe O'Connor
Hey guys, I might be getting a laptop for Christmas, but I dont know whats good for price? I would prefer Windows 7 OS, but would settle for others, and would like one thats good for gaming. What Processors and Graphics Cards and other stuff should I be looking for? Thanks, Joe
Muel
If you want to game, a laptop is the wrong way to go IMO. A decent gaming laptop is around £1500, but you can build a much more powerful desktop for half that.

I would like one though, but because I also go around to mates and play LAN, a laptop works easier.
Boswell
This Acer is the best spec to price I could find, bought one myself before uni and its been solid so far! http://www.amazon.co.uk/Acer-15-6inch-Notebook-i3-350M-Processor/dp/B003S3R7S4/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1291719684&sr=8-2 Edited December 7, 2010 by Boswell
Muel
Ah right. What kinda budget do you have for it? She can't even run Black Ops on it, let alone Crysis or anything hard work. Edited December 7, 2010 by Muel

Youre limited on cutting edge technology because of cooling restraints but you can still build a decent spec machine

Joe O'Connor
Budget would be somewhere around £500 Would it be better to get a cheaper laptop and upgrade the processor? How well would this one do? http://www.dell.com/us/p/inspiron-15r/pd With the Intel Core i5 and 640HDD? Krisboats
Or you could get a small form factor desktop box. The computer would be around the size of a happy meal box. I mean this one is running two graphics cards, and is pretty small. Compared to a 'normal desktop'
