t-comp-kierz
I have an echo lite and a pretty good spec, it's not a heavy spec but it feels heavy to ride Has anyone got any suggestions why this is?

Mark W
Minor stuff like getting your tyre pressures right, getting your chain tension decent and making sure everything's nice 'n' tight make a massive difference to how bikes feel. A slack chain makes any bike feel sluggish and poo, so start with that then just go over everything else.

Gearing, bar/stem setup and angle all contribute too

Captain Scarlet
My friend had an old T-Lite frame and with the spec it was much lighter than the bike I had at the time. But the set-up with stem and bar angle was just awful, it made the bike seem stupidly short, almost like the forks were around the wrong way and very hard to keep on the rear wheel, cramping my back and it felt very heavy. Bar and stem set-up make a very big difference. And as mentioned tyre pressure is as important, too hard and you will get no bounce making your bike feel a ton, just the right pressure with good bounce will make your bike spring across gaps better. Ben John - Hynes
Grow some muscles? Play with the angle of your bars, can make a massive difference.
Rich J
Drill a million holes in everything. Muscles. Or set your bike up as suggested. Three options with one sticking out more than the others. But seriously as mentioned setting a bike up right is so key, think about leverage and so on making it harder to lift/ feel heavier and so on. Filo
Think of Grand Prix cars.... slick tyres but stupid amount of grip... until the water comes! gotta remember that the gp tires are made super sticky and thick to allow them to last,a set of warn tire would be old and hard.so really wouldnt have that much more grip.
