dirt jumper jake
Evening, decided its time to change my rim for something lighter/doesnt give me a pinch flat every ride. ive tried 10 psi, 15psi, 20psi, 25psi,30psi &35psi. all of which give my a pinch flat. pretty sure its the rim as ive tried numerous tyre/tube combos. so basically what stock rims are anygood? quite like the look of the atomz one and its pretty light too. what holds a grind best and is relatively light/strong?? cheers
bikeperson45
What tube are you running? I got tones of pinches then I changed to a Maxxis DH and don't get them nearly as much (was on abot 3-4 a day)

isitafox
What rim and tyre have you currently got?? I had a TR on the rear which had loads of thickness to take a few grinds and ran my stiky really low for a while before I sold the wheel and never had a problem. Hog rim with standard stiky on there at the moment Obligatory "ride smoother" comment. I am relatively smooth on stock, although, mod is a completely different story
isitafox
Well I can recommend the echo tr having ridden one, *though my cousins sisters dads nephews girlfriends uncle overheard someone in a pub saying the trialtech sport rims might be good so I'm getting one of them next if that helps?! *obligatory TF response
gary-mac
Well I can recommend the echo tr having ridden one, *though my cousins sisters dads nephews girlfriends uncle overheard someone in a pub saying the trialtech sport rims might be good so I'm getting one of them next if that helps?! *obligatory TF response The trialtech sport is lite and strong, my mate has it and so far it's been a month and some heavy riding with noprobs. If you have the budget I would get the trialtech sl rim, superlite-strong-good side walls for grinds etc. Been using mine for month with no punctures or any other problems. Big thumbs up from me. smithy83
Cheers peoples, anyone had a rockman rim? sorta swinging to one of them more than a deng/Trialtech... i got the tryall hole rims front and rear which are exactly the same as rockmans i believe. had the rims bout 2months and think ive had 2pinch flats on rear runing 15psi with try-all tyres and standard tubes. there nice and lite rims, look nice and hold a grind very well and find because of the quality of the rim material brakes work really well.im running the non heatsink coustellier pads and there mental and on the front rockman blues and find they work brilliant aswell. J.KYDD
Another vote for the Try-all Hole/Rockman rim. Had mine for a while now, nice 'n' light, holds a grind well. Running mine now with a sticky-light rear tyre and standard tube and had no issues at all with punctures.
forteh
Have you ground your rim? If so chances are you may have inadvertantly left a sharp outside edge on the rim, this will increase the number of pinches you get. Pop the tyre off, skim a grinder/file round the outside to make sure there are no sharp edges/burrs and try again

It'd pinch whenever I'd land on it. Now I run an Echo 07 rim with a tryall tyre and it's awesome. Hardly ever pinch. Bit on the heavy side though.
