isitafox
After christmas I'm gonna be building up another stock bike to ride (buying most of it brand new, just using my drivetrain) cause I fancied having a brand new frame as a bit of a proper fresh start as been riding 2nd hand stuff mostly and wondered who else will be starting from scratch again? Does anyone specifically sell up at the end of each year and start new again for the new season? I'm also thinking of swapping my 07 python frame and going duel disc on my mod to get a totally new setup, is it a good idea?
Simpson
is it a good idea? If January is a good month to burn money. Yes defiantly
isitafox
If January is a good month to burn money. Yes defiantly Any month is a good month to burn money mehewd! Plus its my bday in february and as I'm getting old I have no real need for presents so cash and vouchers to waste on bikes is the only way to go!! Greetings
Going to start from scratch for the first time since I started riding which was around 10 years ago. Had loads of bikes in the past but never had a completely new one. They were always a mash of old and new parts. Planning on building up a 26" Curve V2, aiming at 7.6kg with sensible not paper-thin tyres. Should take a few months to source all the parts though. That is a frighteningly low weight, I'm hoping to keep the weight down on my stock as the last 3 builds have been pretty heavy, heavy tools, zenith and an old echo control! I've just built a brandnew custom limey3 and weighs 9:8 kg. What would you class a heavy? Sorry for gate crashing.

Mark W
When I get a setup I like, I get well anal about keeping it exactly the same so I usually try and just keep riding everything 'til I can't any more. Even changing my tyres from an old, worn set to a new set was a drama

Mark W
Haha, so true oops, not the pussy part In fairness, both posts are true. I wish I wasn't a setup-pussy, but I am. If I wasn't, I wouldn't be currently shitting myself because Rockman Thin/French-ID foam grips are almost impossible to come by, and they're the only grip I'll run. I'm currently looking at the possibility of having to buy some from a shop that charge twice the RRP just so I can get a set of them. Not cool. isitafox
Luckily I've not come across a set up I'm in love with so still get to play about. Lookin forward to picking up a born after Christmas, unless of course the slate III takes my fancy!
