RobRook
Right, been tweaking things In 3D: •Frame material is a little darker to prevent reflections blowing out/over-exposing •Tyre material is a little darker with reshaped specular to better represent new tyres. •Pedals are slightly darker with fixed decal, not that they're very visible. •Reflective values of a few parts have been reduced (pedal arm, front gear, chain, rear brake silver body) •Tweaked valve material. •Hadle bars & stem specular value reduced to prevent over-exposure effect. •Engraved writing on the chain has darker material to give it a little definition on close-up. •Rear brake line reflective value slightly reduced. •Rear rim sidewall grind effect achieved with displace map rather than bump map, looks better to me I'd say. •Reversed front tyre tread pattern because it was backwards. In Post: •Brightened & added contrast to the renders using 'levels' in PSP. •Rendered off depth maps and used PSP to add depth of field to image 4, 5 & 6. Side Note: I've decided I'm presenting the bike in this way because I feel adding anything else will distract the eye from the actual model. But it's mostly to stay true-to-life; new trials frames, parts & whole bike builds are presented in this way in real life to best show the build quality, style & details. The very things we all like to see in 3D Render times @ 1680x1050: Render 1: 1hr 1min Render 2: 1hr 2min Render 3: 51min Render 4: 3hrs Render 5: 2hr 2min Render 6: 57min Batch render over night And thanks to everyone for all your comments, both during modelling and after I posted the last lot of renders. You've all helped me no end to completes this! Enjoy.. Edited January 13, 2011 by RobRook

Jamie_Trials
Matt... 3-D In computers, 3-D (three dimensions or three-dimensional) describes an image that provides the perception of depth. When 3-D images are made interactive so that users feel involved with the scene, the experience is called virtual reality . You usually need a special plug-in viewer for your Web browser to view and interact with 3-D images. Virtual reality experiences may also require additional equipment. 3-D image creation can be viewed as a three-phase process of: tessellation ,geometry , and rendering . In the first phase, models are created of individual objects using linked points that are made into a number of individual polygons (tiles). In the next stage, the polygons are transformed in various ways and lighting effects are applied. In the third stage, the transformed images are rendered into objects with very fine detail. Popular products for creating 3-D effects include Extreme 3D, LightWave 3D, Ray Dream Studio, 3D Studio MAX, Softimage 3D, and Visual Reality. The Virtual Reality Modelling Language ( VRML ) allows the creator to specify images and the rules for their display and interaction using textual language statements. Love the new pic's, and I thought it couldn't get any better

RobRook
Ahhhh, right I see.. Hmmm, I'd forgot I had 3d glasses.. I'll do a few at lower res so they render faster.

forteh
Awesome work on the grind, looks much better You have straight gauge spokes or is that a detail youve missed?
RobRook
Awesome work on the grind, looks much better You have straight gauge spokes or is that a detail youve missed? Thanks! Do you mean the thickness of the spokes being constant or that I've got straight spokes on the front right side? EDIT: Just checked my order from when I ordered the parts, and I ordered mutiny plain guage. So I guess that's the answer Edited January 12, 2011 by RobRook
forteh
Meant the thickness of them, you obviously have plain gauge rather than double butted though and not a missed detail
