Miles Mallinson Posted November 30, 2010 Report Share Posted November 30, 2010 (edited) Clean the threads with a wire brush then put the grease on and spread it around the threads with your fingers, a good grease is weldite lithium or a pedros one. I always use it for almost every threaded application, except for BMX freecoaster hubs. It cost me around £10 for a pretty big tub of it in halfords. rupintart Posted December 1, 2010 Report Share Posted December 1, 2010 If you don't like being messy, use teflon tape (plumbers tape). It also helps keep the creaking away. Make sure you chase the threads before installing a BB. It's always good practice to do. Better to be OCD and have good threads, than to be lazy and have a f**ked frame.
