and now im doing water anti freeze, 50:50 ratio

but i feel there must be something a bit better

Is there any need for anything better? I think that water give the most responsive feel on the lever. I bled mine last night with Vodka and water ( ratio 3:1 )

would anti freeze, vodka and water be a good blend do you think?

I'm sure it would be ok, alothough i don't see the point of it! :P

I think you can pretty much freestyle with the 3. Some people run pure anti freeze, some half and half ect.. (Y)

For sure water bled feels great and ticks 90% of all boxes but one. There harse on seals, it doesn't stop me using it though but am sure when the new phatphluid comes out it will be very good and not so harsh on seals.

Have you tried de-ionised or distilled water? I'd imagine if you flushed your system fully of contaminants and then bled with that stuff your seals would keep for a fair bit longer than if you used tap water.

Oh, and for anyone thinking of it, mercury won't freeze until it drops to -38.72c, so solid brakes won't be something you need to worry about in this country (unless the freak weather continues :()

I bled mine with a cable, it's great.

If only it were possible :-

I once used water, it was really snappy. Then i got a whole new setup with braided Magura hoses with Magura oil, guess what, it is probably just as snappy. Give everything a proper service and lube it up sufficiently.

Not out yet guys. ;-). It is good though, be out soon and all I can say is buy it when it does. You'll soon forget about water and mineral oil.

Can anyone spot the problem with these 2 comments??
