Do you mean sick as in vomit or as in illness?

monkeyseemonkeydo
My guess is the veterinarian, who spent six years learning to do what he does, has a better idea about your birds sick dog than anyone on here. Just a guess. What was his suggestion for a remedy? Try to get it to drink lots of water?
Tomm
Somewhat ironically it is illegal for doctors to treat animals. But not for vets to treat humans.
N.Wood
Add a bit more salt and you're halfway to a Chinese delicacy.
quick_spider
My fiancee is a Veterinary Surgeon... Is that what you mean Will ask her shortly...
quick_spider
Message from the other half: It's unlikely given the amount of salt it would need to ingest, but it depends on the size of animal etc... It's not something that is part of the vet syllabus, so it's not a common ailment. Any other symptoms? Given what you've said so far, it should be at a vets on a drip. She'll ask the partners tomorrow.
Matt Vandart
Thanks for that reply dude, I didn't see it till now. Thats exactly what the vet did, put her on a drip and 24hrs later she is sorted again. The main reason I was asking this is that I also thought she would have had to have eaten a hell of alot of salt, she is a pretty big english bull terrier. My feelings were that she was suffering from hypothermia as it was very very cold that day, her hair is very thin compared to other dogs and she was standing about on the patio for a good hour not doing much. while the oldest son was doing something in the garden. She is also a bit dull and could easily stand there till she froze solid.
