dann2707
Google 'uniqlo' and look at the 'heatTech' range. They do the leggings/long johns. They are stupidly warm as they 'convert sweat into heat' or something like that. eBay are doing a special offer where its 3 items from the heattech range for £22 delivered! dann2707
I presumed the op wanted something that would keep his legs warm through the winter.. Without the price tag of the 'skins' stuff. This is what these leggings do...

Ali C
yeah, it depends what you are wanting from them. If it's mainly a warmth thing, long john type things work very well, they are also a lot cheaper. If you want the compression effect (which I never noticed any benefit) then prepare to pay a little more. Skins are supposedly the best but 2XU are also worth looking at. Scotty Evil1
http://www.baselayer.co.uk/ They havelots of diff brands and types (compression, thermal etc) I've used linebreaker ( not stocked anymore) and currently use "ORCA" Tights + trackies= Lovely warm legs for winter
Jon Alty
I play hockey and i have a pair of Puma compression shorts, aswell as compression tights. I think theyre actually decent, and i think i do see a difference when wearing them playing hockey, however this could be the placebo effect . I wear them trialing some times, but only really to keep me warm, which they do to a certain extent, but those heattech long johns are specificly designed for it so im guessing they are better. If anyone was wondering the placebo effect is when you think something is helping you, because your told its meant to, but really its a dud and does nothing, therefore its all in your brain. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plecibo

dannytrialskid
It's not that it is out of my price range, it's just that I know they are going to get ripped and what not, so I don't really want to spend loads of money for them to get ripped. But £40 seems pretty decent to be honest. EDIT: £20 for them. oh my god oh my god oh my god that's amazing, Getting them.. THANKS SAM! PaRtZ
Ive got technicals base layer bottoms for climbing in, but for ultimate warmth, go icebreaker!! Merino wool in them bad boys Its wayy out of your price range though. Go to your nearest blacks and ask to look at base layers. Tell them I sent you and they might give you extra discount Seriously if you decide to go to blacks or millets, Ill tell you what discounts you might be elligable for. They sell Peter storm base layers too which aren't amazing, but will still do the trick of taking the edge off the cold.
p_ruskin
Under Armour 'Metal' range are by far the best, Compression and stupidly warm. Rather pricey though http://www.baselayer.co.uk/Men-s-Under-Armour-ColdGear-Metal-Mock-1204291--White-Graph-product-13-72#Royal/Graph
