raymanh
Hi, After reading a a few threads, I have decided that to get the best bang for my buck I should buy second hand rather than new. I am therefore looking for a decent stock or 24" bike for around £300. I have noticed a lot of mods around this price, but ideally I would like a decent stock or 24" since I would like to do fast street style stuff as well as trials- is this too much to expect for £300? Any help appreciated.

krazykid009
I see you are from the Bristol area. There is a group of us riding next Saturday. Come along and I am sure people wll let you have a try so that you can decide which style suits you best. Street style can be done on mods, so don't rule them out just yet! liam n
Buy my bike, and cornwall isn't to far from bristol could meet you somewhere in between http://www.trials-forum.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=158963&st=0&gopid=2221525&

I want one with a seat and 24" wheels as I'd be riding more street than actual trials. As I'm new round here, does anyone know of an established "top-3 (or 5)" list of best options for around £2-300? Thanks. PS. If mods/raymanh would rather I make my own thread I will, I just didn't want to clutter the forum with the same questions. Actually a seat would be quite nice thinking about it, but I don't see any on mods. Also how do you put a seat in (on most trials bikes I have seen closed off seat tubes so would this have to be cut off?)?
Dwarf Shortage
Also how do you put a seat in (on most trials bikes I have seen closed off seat tubes so would this have to be cut off?)? Some mods do have seats - Monty Most 24"s have seats, and some stocks do. It could weaken your frame if you're going to be cutting seat tubes up, but you could get something like this - attachable seat, and I've seen some mods which have a small hole with a cap in them, which you would just need to remove and place a seat post in. If you're still in want of a seat on a stock, it might be worth having a look at something a little more old school. For a 24", the Onza Zoot gets high praise all 'round, it's a bit out of your price range, but it may be available in the FS section in full members a bit nearer your budget. Guess I'll just have to stick around until I get validated, sorry guys
