Jamie_Trials
If it leaking, bit of super glue for the time being. Try file it down so the cracks gone, make it smooth so its less prone to cracking again
SamKidney
Its actually cracked the whole way along the underside of the lever body. Not the beginings of a crack :/
N.Wood
Then no, no proper safe method. If the crack is like 1cm then fine, grind he off.
SamKidney
well it died tonight, underside cracked off leaving me mid ride with no brake, but was to be expected. Might go back to my old 04, never had problems with that. Or an Echo SL, good to look at and feel great
Gaz96
Both my maggies done this, is it a commen problem? Ive noticed the new 2011 you can buy a protector for the lever body, im guessing thats to stop this?
Ali C
with trials, you are often doing stuff that is putting side to side loads on the lever blade rather than just pulling it as it's meant to. After a while it can (and does) crack. If you get another 05+ brake, you can file away the back so there is a smooth transition rather than the sharp edge normally there. This will make the lever last a LOT longer. the NEW brake is a different design and material, that cover is not a protector as such, more just for looks than anything else. SamKidney
Thanks Ali, If i get another 05+ magura body I'l make sure I file away the sharp edge, but it looks like I'm getting an SL for Christmas Cheers Guys
