Jon Alty
Was thinking if anyone from the south of england (southampton/portsmouth/andover etc) want to get together for a ride on some day during the christmas holidays? Maybe after christmas day, so people can use their new goodies theyve recieved for christmas? Just a thought. Post your opinions on date/location. Im good with anywhere within an hours drive from Southampton. Edited November 26, 2010 by Jon Alty
Jake Beach
I'd be there if it was southampton
pashley-phil
I think there is normally a reading Christmas ride which always seems to get a good amount of rides I'll be there if it happens

Jon Alty
Hmmm, could be game for reading, just over an hour away for me. Is that definitely happening this year?

George Edwards
this is true, reading station died. So portsmouth? poole/bournmouth?
Jon Alty
this is true, reading station died. So portsmouth? poole/bournmouth? Pompey is quite a cool place to ride + easy to get to for most? Also bournemouth is a good shout. Reading is a bit far for me so id prefer bournemouth/pompey but if it was in reading id still go
Nick Manning
I'm heading to Bournemouth to on Christmas eve, could be up for a ride. Bournemouth/Poole would good, though Bournemouth is only ride able in the evening. Poole is good in the day, but as it's Christmas eve, I'd expect Poole to be packed with shoppers. Portsmouth would be the best bet, all the riding spots are out the way of the shopping areas.

Im liking the Bournemouth option, as its a large train line so people who cant drive can easily get there, also ive not ridden there and didnt really see it as a very big trials hotspot. Im guessing there are good spots in Bournemouth though?

Im guessing there are good spots in Bournemouth though? It has some good spots, most in the town centre and high street, but are unable to ride until the shopper have gone home. Though as its christmas, they have german markets in the centre so that's probably out. So your left with high street, sea front and various other spots. Luke Dunstan
Believe it or not, Didcot has some newly built spots which are pretty impressive. Here's one spot about 2 minutes from my house, the new town centre has some pretty big spots going on.
Luke Dunstan
The only problem with reading is that all the lines through reading station are down. I forgot about all that, the station is completely closed for 2 weeks or something. Maybe I won't be at work then

Oli P
I think bournmouth is a bad idea for riding in the day as most of the places that I know of are in the highstreet, and on christmas eve it will be ridiculously busy. My vote is for portsmouth just because the spots are not going to be that busy, or possibly maybe if the weather is nice a natty ride e.g Barton or Milford possibly.
