Alex Dark
hey there, got a rear halfords hydraulic disc brake. Only problem is it lsoes pressure in a few minutes of use and the lever pulls into the bar after about a half hour. Are tehre any clever way of finding a leak? Apart from hanging it upside down? http://washford.scene7.com/is-viewers/flash/genericzoom.swf?serverUrl=/is/image&image=Washford/314401&viewSize=450,
Tomm
Do they return to normal after a little while? They probably just need bleeding?

If it's actually leaking you'll be able to see/feel/smell fluid either on the tube or around the fixings or pistons. As said above, sounds more like it's air in the system that needs bleeding out. Sprog!
hmmm, bleed it with something witha very strong colour... dye or something. then once bled, put into a bucket of water and keep pressing the lever and hopefully there should be colour coming from the place where the leak is? Danny
Clean it up so its sparkling then go for a ride. Should be obvious where its leaking.
davey1991
The way i was shown to do it although on a car. Pump the brake hard a few times, then sprinkle talc or flour all over the hose, where it sticks is where your leak is or close to it atleast.
