Who Has Jumped Into/on Vehicles?

I guess the amount of people willing to invest that much in sponsorship who happen to have a load of scrap cars that don't look shit (In that almost every other section looks amazing, so having a load of bangers piled up in a heap wouldn't look great...) is probably pretty low. Skips are harder to ride than cars too!

Only saying Christ.

Nah, cars have squishy tires, suspension and slippy paint and slippy/smashy glass to contend with. Skips tend to be a bit rusty so grippy and don't move!

Used to ride my bike out of the front door, across the roof of the garage and down to the roof of my car every time I went riding :P

I didn't know you were Ryan Leech. Learn something new every day.

You get 4 more thin, rail-like bits on skips than you get on any car though ;) Bit easier to stack in interesting ways too!

Cars have always been a bit balls to ride on IMO, never really had 'fun' doing it apart from jumping over one on my BMX, and that involved not actually touching it in any way...

Ah, fair enough. Most of my skip riding has been done with them upside down (motorbike trials riders don't like them the right way up as much it seems!). Cars are good for hooking... and the public like them because they can relate better to the scale I think.

Fletcher Gillet? He was all over MBUK a few years ago, rode a mix of flatland and trials on an Ellsworth Specialist - used to love that frame!

Remember when he was supposedly the 1st bloke to Switzerland squeaker on a MTB and they did something like a 6 page feature on it!

  • 1 year later...

When I was about 19, there was a shabby old van parked up against a 13ft wall in town, with the driver in it reading a paper.

So I seized the opportunity to drop down onto his roof, then off his roof to the floor & ride off very quickly, he got out ready to chase me & called me a fanny rather loudly, which I can understand.

Short clip at begin of this vid...can't believe this was 6 years ago!

Guy randomly asked me If I could jump on his car while out on a ride...pretty sure it could have been stolen since we were on some naff council estate...

Just read Leon's post, that would have been an amazing watch!
