George.E
Definatly go for the FSA Pig, I have one and also know a lot of people who have one. For the money they are the best headsets around. Really reliable. Problem solved
Alex Dark
Don't go for a Pig...get a sexond hand Echo SL or TR. The pigs are incredibly heavy ( and yes I do have one )

But you can't say that for the money the Pig isn't good

But you can't say that for the money the Pig isn't good It's strong if you have a habit of killing bearings and it'll fit headtubes that are slightly flared, but apart from that you can do better. A decent sealed bearing headset will do the job nicely, fit and forget until (if) the bearings die and then its a simple job of getting some new ones for a few quid. TomN
If it's from Tarty I say go for a FSA Pig, I've never had a problem with it. For the price it works. As for the people saying it's heavy bah, I ride my bike never thought it was heavy to me. But that's down to peoples preference.
Krisboats
Tarty isn't the only bike shop you know. Chain Reaction cycles has the same pig headset, only cheaper and with free postage. In fact you can get the stronger DH version for cheaper than tarty. FSA Pig £14 FSA Pig DH Pro (sealed lower bearings instead of loose) £18 Or if you can spend £22 i'd recommend this: FSA Orbit XLII. It's long lasting, super smooth and lighter than a hope headset, but 6g heavier than a tensile at a fraction of the price. Leaves you a couple of quid for a burger or something too Did i mention they do free delivery?
Alex Dark
FSA orbit XLII off ebay.. £
Luke Rainbird
The FSAs are fairy decent, or you could just as easily pick up a new Cane Creek S2/similar for around the same price. Both are tried and tested headsets that have proven themselves for trials use, so you can't go far wrong with either

Muel
I've had a Pig, it was awful. Mad heavy, and I could never get it to sit straight in the frame so it always had binding points. Had one of these, best headset I'ver ever owned. Fit and forget! http://tartybikes.co.uk/product.php?product_id=550&category_id=
