Urban Vee Forks. Rim Width Suitable?

Recommended Posts

Got some Echo Urban forks on the stock with vee mounts. The previous mode to what is currently available.

I want to know what size rim is okay/ what you've used?

It's obvious a 20mm Mavic isn't going to be appropriate (damn! cause those are cheap), but i have access (not right now) to a Ryno Lite XL which is 30mm. Reckon i could pull that off? Or should i just buy a new 39mm trial rim?

When i say "pull off", i mean work perfect, no bodge jobs, or pads that angle like crazy.

Depends what pads you have..?

My point follows:

ryno would be ok with some heatsink pads or other with simmilar backings.

even when the pad has 2mm left you reckons?

Looking for something that isn't going to suddenly turn around and be a dick to me.

Pad choice, unknown. I have many pads. But i don't know what i'll be using yet. This is a budget build and all i need is rim/spokes.

Older heatsink backings were so thick, that even with only 2mm of pad they would be as thick as new inspired phat pads I think...so I really wouldn´t be afraid to go for this setup (Y)

Thanks but pad choice is unknown. I think i'll measure it all up when i get a minute.

when i had a trialtech in urban forks with a vee with heatsink pads, they were reasonably square, probably had to check the pad angle after a big ride though, a thinner rim is probably better, might be worth holding back on the wheel build and checking the spacing/alignment?
