Mikee
Long wheel base and slack head angle wasn't really suited to me and my riding style. So I dusted off the ashton frame and built it again. I missed it if i'm honest, haha. Edited November 23, 2010 by Mikee
Ross McArthur
Long wheel base and slack head angle was really suited to me and my riding style. But an ashton has a short Wb and a steep HA....

Can't fault it. Nice! Looks fun! How's the booster? Super stiff? I've always wanted to try one of those out... It's a great booster. It seems to stiffen up the brake massively.. Rusevelt
The only upgrade i would make on that steed would be to run a Trialtech high riser stem.

Ali C
don't think how short a bike is has much to do with how high the bars should be. Anyway, as short as the wheelbase on that Ashton is, the reach is actually quite long! I don't agree that a Trialtech high rise stem would be good on it, but I do recken a steep 90mm stem and some high rise bars would suit it perfectly. I had a 110mm hope stem on my old Ashton and it always felt a bit long for my liking, and the higher I put my bars on it, the better it felt. Mikee
I had a 110mm hope stem on my old Ashton and it always felt a bit long for my liking Agree. and the higher I put my bars on it, the better it felt. Disagree. I experimented with this setup for ages and just a 5mm spacer feels best with the 110mm stem I think. Personal prefference though I guess. I tried my 90mm stem from my inspired on it for a while. It felt good but it wasn't as confortable for more trialsy moves. I think a 100mm stem would be the best length for it but I have yet to try it out. I might try to pic up a cheap one sometime.
Ali C
I ended up putting 30mm of spacers under my hope stem on my Ashton lol
