t-comp-kierz
I have been doing of streety moves instead of TGSy moves and the ones that I am having the most difficulty with is wallrides and nose manuals. Is the a easier way of learning them rather than just going for it and hoping for the best? Is it easier with a higher bar and stem or lower bar and stem? Is the a easier way of learning them rather than just going for it and hoping for the best? Is it easier with a higher bar and stem or lower bar and stem? I think that when it comes down to it setup will only help so much. When i was learning manuals I noticed this, trying a different stems. It helped a bit but still took a lot of practise to become consistant with them. Eventually I went back to the old stem and can manual just as easily. If you notice that you want more room at the front it may be worth getting a longer stem but just for the sake of hoping it improves your technique is a bit of a waste, in my opinion. Ali C
a long stem will be fine for manuals but mainly in a straight line. A short high setup will make things feel more natural as the bike will pop up easier (which is what you want). As for wallrides, you need to go fairly fast, it's not something you can do half arsed. You can learn on sloped stuff, but for a vertical wall you need to lean your body over quite far and go in at an angle great enough for you to stick to the wall, but not too steep that you just bounce off (my main problem with them).
