kevind
Hi Guys, Decision has to be made. I have been called out tomorrow to get a wind turbine back up and running. I dont work weekends but this is an emergency. I shoiuld be finished by lunch. But there is alot more snow forecast tonight and its still very icy. I think it would be wise to call it a day and see you all next week in Glasgow if the weathers better. I will arrange another weekend like this in the new year. rab3481
yeah, was really looking forward to tomorrow but doesn't look it can happen. There's still snow on the street's in edinburgh so the quarry will be pretty covered. Just hope it's ok for street in glasgow next weekend! I've just been out for 3hours at the (mound) where i hold the motorcycle british trials round and it was amazing, pure natural trials, Its has everything!! So i'd like to arrange a day up here with all you lads so i'll start a new thread soon when i can arrange a date etc. It would be awesome, what i'll do is take pictures of the terrian and put them up so yous get a idea of it. just out of interest who would be up for this?? as many riders from novice to elite!!! cheers garymac
rab3481
i'm always up for a ride! it's nice to get trips away as i tend to get sick of the same old street. new natural stuff's definitely a plan! i have a car and stay in edinburgh so can drag along folks from here too if they're keen. kevind
Hi Gary, It was a wise decision. There has been alot of freezing and another good dump of snow. Spoke with Rab last night and he kinda agreed that it would be impossible to ride in this. I would be up for a weekend up at the mound, dragging a couple of my boyz along. I, ve riden up there with your scottish round and watched all the British rounds. It would be a great place to ride for a couple of days. The area around section 1 and the big step would sort the elite shiny boys out. (only joking guys) I will buy anyone a pint who can get up the big step on a push bike!!!!! Arrange weekend before the midges wake up though. Ive lost all my photos from the event to post up.
gary-mac
Alrighty kev, very wise move! Am stuck in stirling the now, bloody nightmare with all the snow. I the famous step would stop all riders, its a good wee area that but I prefer all the boulders round the far end of the mound! Could get a whole weekend riding there noproblem. Def going to arrange something and try get as many top riders as possible! There's plenty for all levels plus I have all marking gear so we could mark out sections etc.
kevind
Hi gary, Yeah good luck in getting home tonight, the forecast looks pretty bad. As we talked about lets get a fun weekend and/or a scottish round at yours would be brilliant. If we all meet up next week we can put dates in with everybody else rounds. Cant wait. Re the step I think you might be surprised but I think my pints safe. THE CHALLENGE IS ON!!! KICKER ALLOWED. Some of the british rounds are up now for next year. Phantassie wont be ready til June/July now so one of mine could be towards the end of the year when the weathers not good.

HOME at last kev took me 7hours from stirling!! roads closed all over the place and a new set of pants as afew hairy moments happend. I'll put my gasser on it no one can get up it!! go on youtube and type in gary mac and i'm on there practising years ago doing the step, if they use same kicker thats there, far to big for a push bike, on the other hand its a good drop off which i think i'll go try soon, so you might hear am in hospital lol. hopefully we get together next week and can sort out a weekend at the mound plus a date for a trial!! cheers
