ryan-carey
This has really confused me? Does this mean that the brakes are using water instead of hydraulic fluid?

krazykid009
HS33s can be bled with water or mineral oil. Water gives a more responsive action, but mineral oil needs less regular bleeding and overall maintenance. I personally use a water bleed, but it's personal preference to be honest mate. Hope I helped James

Topsy
So, I came to the conclusion that I'd like to give a chance to water (pretty fed up with oil actually) and only wanted to ask if I have to lube some parts of the brake etc. And if there are any important things I shouldn't forget whilst/before bleeding. Also, Is destilled or tap water better? We have quite a lot of chalk here. Last question: How much antifreeze should go in? 70%water 30% antifreeze? Thanks Edited November 29, 2010 by Hopping_Topsy
Revolver
50% water 50% antifreeze. Really you should syringe bleed for antifreeze, it's a waste to pour that into your sink. You can use distilled water if you feel happier using it.
Topsy
Don't have a syringe (Atleast not that i know of), and I guess my mom anyway wouldn't let me pour antifreeze into the sink. lol So I'll probably go for a bucket. Anyway, if i would have a syringe I wouldn't know how to bleed my brake with it. Never done one before. charlie.rush48
Just remembered something. The anti freeze won't mess my brakes colour up if I bathe the whole thing, will it? Sorry for the double :/ I bath bled my brake for the first time for the winter, 50:50 ratio of anti freeze and water, and im never going back to oil(personal preferance) water bled brakes are good if you like a quick lever, were as you will find with oil, it takes a slight bit longer for the lever to go back after pulling it, and it wont change the color of your brake at all hope i helped.
