Front Disc To Hs33

I'm considering swapping my front disc to a hs33 but I wanted a few reviews from people who run HS33 front and rear. I find trying to go up to front a problem as my disc doesn't hold enough but I'm worried a magura will be too grabby??

Is it worth changing, or should I consider a swap to a BB7?

So you don't have a BB7 currently?

Probably just your technique, unless your brake is real bad.

If you have mag mounts try it, otherwise probably ain't worth the money.

BB7s don't offer real modulation by the way.

Magura is either on/off or all modulation i find.

Vee brake is just on/off braking.

Hope is everything.

noob question...

what does "modulation" mean? sorry :giggle:

Means you can put as much or as little power down as you want whereas with no modulation the brake would either stop dead or do nothing, if you get what I mean?!

Think I'll hang on till I get my new frame and see how I feel. I don't mind swapping my disc only forks for some disc and maggie ones if it means I've got the option in future.

I've been from HS33 to front Vee.

I found with the HS33 that it was either on or off (but obviously it's all dependent on brake pads, grind, set up and all that shizzle)

My front vee, avid SD7 arms, with red plazmatic style pads on the lightest of grinds gives me great modulation though. It just feels perfect with amazing hold, not that much bite but it's not what I was aiming for on the front.

However it's really noisy, even on such a light grind (literally almost smooth), really high pitched squeek which gets quite annoying.

The upside is I can make a two tone almost police siren with the highpitched on front and low pitched noise on the rear! :) win
