NiallTrial
I'm 17 and have been riding bikes for ages and figured i would give trials a go. Somewhat strapped for cash, but have a WTP Bmx and another bike i could sell for some funds. I've got pretty good balance ect on a bike but need help on choosing my first trials bike. Wondering about peoples opinions on 20" vs 24". What makes are good for budget bikes? And how to go about learning the basics. Any links to bikes for sale would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. ryan-carey
Being newbie myself I don't completely know for sure, but from what I've heard, 20" bikes are much easier to ride and to learn on. I'm sure someone else on here can help out a bit more.
Gaz96
20" are good for beginners, they feel a bit funny when you first get one but soon become use to it. Theyre good because theyre small, light and are just quite basic bikes no gears ect... While starting out its a good idea to gather a load of knowledge about trials, this helped me when i started. Watch loads of tutorials, read loads of tutorials, also watch loads of trials videos for inspiration and just learn all about trials. Learn all the basics first and just practice, practice, practice. And have fun!
kevind
Hi Guys, I am running a scottish club for next year. See rides and locations for info. Come along on Sunday to Kirkliston quarry if you can. I will arrange for you to get a go on somebodies bike. ( ITS JUST A FUN DAY NOT AN EVENT) There will be a scottish website up and running soon. The events cater for all levels and abilities. You will get lots of help and advise and your abilities will improve pretty quickly. We have a lot of riders that had never riden only a few months ago that are doing all the basics pretty well now. Riding with someone is the best way I think to get better.
