Hi peeps how are we all, Right i've just gave my hs33's a waterbleed and think the feel is amazing so i've been having a think about it etc and was wondering if any one has tried watercoolant?? The reason behind this is for freezing purposes. It gets down to very low temperatures here and i'm worried the brakes freeze so i've been thinking about ready mix coolant, they have anti corrosive properties so its safe for aluminium and rubber! so would this work or has any one tried this.

cheers

What, like antifreeze? in that case yes, a lot of people use it in the winter to stop the water freezing in their brake without having to switch back to oil and losing the feel of the brake.

Can't quite remember the mix ratio, but I'm pretty sure noone runs PURE antifreeze. Think it may have been 10 part water to 1 part antifreeze, but don't quote me on that.

Oh, and a nice new grind for the winter definitely helps.

I have. Didn't really seem to be a problem at all. Standard thing applies - there's around 25ml of fluid in a HS33, so there's not really much there at all. You don't have to be mega precise with ratios or anything like that simply because there's so little it's not going to make a huge difference if you've got 1ml more of antifreeze than you should...
