Will I be able to get this off again if I put it on? Or is it just not worth trying?

Just to check, your talking about the turny threads? Not where the BB tool goes? - if so, Do you mean take off the end of this or file down on the surface of the mashed threads... if that makes sense?

file down the mashed threads just so its smooth so it wont wreck your bb threads

have you got any old freewheels or screw on cogs? the thread is the same on both so you could run it through the freewheel and use it as a dye to clean the threads up.

If you know anyone with access to a lathe get them to turn the mashed threads off for you. I did the same for a V!Z BB which I put into a frame that I didn't realise had wonky threads.
