casualjoe
I impaled my self on a long spike, it went in up my anus and came out through my eye socket. The bike was ok though which was a relief.

Mark W
Pretty brutal faceplant 6-7 years ago that led to a compound fracture of my nose (bridge of my nose got totally flattened and ended up sort of around the bottom of my eye socket), my glasses being snapped in half and embedded in the top of my nose, and what was a suspected fractured bit on what would be my upper jaw. Fun times My sense of smell and taste got reduced as a result of it, and 'cos of how my septum's all f**ked I seem to be more susceptible to colds and stuff like that. All in the name of testing a hub for Onza

Mark W
The noise my nose made when the doctor set it back in place almost made one of the nurses throw up I got given a load of pethodone which was absolutely amazing. So relaxed when I was lying in the hospital bed they had to keep reminding me to breath

Mark W
Didn't hurt at all when I did it, and I went straight into shock which carried me over 'til I got to the hospital and they gave me the painkillers. So yeah, didn't hurt at any point, and was back riding again once the swelling had gone down and the stitches got taken out

Mark W
Even this far on my mum still takes the piss out of me for me going mental when I went into shock Apparently I just kept saying "I think I've broken my nose. Have I broken my nose? I think it's broken. Is it broken? What does that mean? I think I've broken my nose..." Worse than that by a million miles was snapping one of the ligaments in my ankle when I was messing around on my BMX. Hurt like an absolute b*****d, stopped me riding properly for a few months and set me back quite a bit. Not great. My tip would be to never mess up your ligaments, just concentrate on snapping bones or cutting yourself

Mark W
Nah, I was just riding BMX then - it just basically meant I couldn't ride for quite a while, so I lost all my strength/fitness and flexibility in my ankle. Had to start small and work up again, whereas I'd been on a sort of good streak at the time (just one of those things where you're learning stuff really quickly, riding well, etc.). It sucked! My tip would be to never mess up your ligaments, just concentrate on snapping bones or cutting yourself I wish I'd known the severity of ligament damage when I did mine I ruptured the ligaments in my ankle five days before Tarty Days and still rode (proof) on it. It wasn't diagnosed for a week or so after Tarty Days and wasn't fully healed for a couple more months. I've only just stopped riding with ankle support, too. I feel properly sick every time I think about it as I can still vividly feel it giving way

I feel properly sick every time I think about it as I can still vividly feel it giving way I got back on my bike and rode around with a 661 Pro Race Brace on and it wasn't so bad, it was only when I properly dipped my heel down (as in toes towards heel type thing) where it hurt. So doing big drops on it sucked for a while... oh so you wernt doing trials biking at the time of the accident like u wernt learning the sport I was learning BMX. Didn't really do anything like that when I was first learning to ride trials though, apart from smashing my knees loads of times. I hurt my back a bit but that was it...
