As above really. What would be the procedure to remove anodising from my T-pro '06.

I have 500g of "Drain cleaner with caustic soda" and just want advice on how to use it!

I know to wear gloves and eye protection and do it outside somewhere ventilated but just not sure on how to use it.

Cheers. Dan

if it's the powder (the best form) then get a plastic container (not an old takaway rice tray as I found out) and fill with hot water (the hotter the stronger the reaction). Find an old toothbrush and apply to frame, wait a few moments and you'll see the frame reacting. Leave for as long as you dare and wash off with cold water.

I got some proper stuff from boots today, did the same procedure, added it all to hot water. It's barely even taken anything off! The only bit's I've noticed changed is inside the dropout mounts where the axle slides in. I'm guessing that layer of "anodising" has been effected by the removal of the axle etc. Just doesn't seem to be reacting at all :/

Looks like I may aswell just sand it down with some wet and dry and spray it straight on. Just a shame as I've wasted £4 on the stuff now :(

Mr muscle oven cleaner has had no effect what so ever :(

I think I made the caustic soda solution earlier too weak, as I filled my bin up half way with hot water. Gonna give it another go soon I think. Becoming a right pain this but I guess it's the only way to learn :)

Please don't breathe the gas in, can knock you out good and proper. Did some motorbike bars with some Caustic soda, only took about 15 minutes. Read what the does on the back says then just double it for more strength. Theres also a certain order to adding the contents to the container, like water/ caustic or caustic/water.
