Matthew62
I find that the Trialtech freewheel in particular has an almost omnipresent resonance that can be likened to the way in which the distant dull roar of a city can perpetrate your every thought. By this i mean, that somehow, almost miraculously the sound of the freewheel is always with you, it is infinite in its sound to the extent that it continues to resonates within you even when you are static. And for this reason alone i would have to say.....Yes! It does sound good.

Azarathal
All of you guys being complete twats about this, wouldn't you want reliability and decent sound? Or are you all just jumping on the 'lets gang together and be complete c**ts' bandwagon?

Or are you all just jumping on the 'lets gang together and be complete c**ts' bandwagon? That would be a fair swing of your handbag if the topic didn't start with the noise being the most important factor in this guys choice. If he was saying reliability, performance and then noise then maybe he wouldn't get so much shit. In a perfect world, I'd want my freewheel to be totally silent.
Matthew62
come again ha haa It all makes perfect sense and it confirms why i'd use the Echo rather than the Trialtech....you know for the Nepalese mist covered mountain feeling it's got. Agreed, buying a loud freewheel just for the noise is akin to putting neons on your corsa that your nan drove before she died because they "look good", people will look but just think your a complete penis. I set up a thread regarding this http://www.trials-forum.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=156885&st=0&p=2194855&fromsearch=1&#entry2194855 There's nothing wrong liking a loud freewheel, people in the thread said the noise is reassuring as if it sounds odd then somethings amiss and you sort it before it blows as you lay down the power for that big gap you've just got the balls to try. I personally like it for that reason but a silent freewheel and brakes............its just a dream which tortures me each night

I mean, hundreds of people have recommended the echo sl, so its obv a good freewheel. I like my freewheels to sound good, maybe thats a bit stupid if i was going to buy a shit freewheel, but the echo sl sounds amazin AND is probs the best freewheel...
